A gaze free of affect focused on the life-giving impulse that drives humanity and its obsessive cycles. Performed by five dancers, <em>L&#8217;affadissement du merveilleux<\/em> is a swirling succession of non-stop recurrences \u2013 births, deaths, rebirths \u2013 a dizzying attempt to portray that which transcends us. Catherine Gaudet is interested in cycles as a universal structure. To give them tangible shape she uses the circular form \u2013 spatial, internal, instinctual \u2013 as a backdrop.
