In early December Catherine will be offering a creative workshop at Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique. The workshop will be a laboratory for creation and experimentation where, through various avenues of exploration – ideas, phantasmagoria, surrealist situations – Catherine will reveal the complexity that drives character and actions, as well as the forces – symbolic, archetypal, vital – that set them in motion. Participants will be encouraged to develop a representation of their own physicality consisting of fine contradictions and frictions, both physical and psychic, where each participant’s resistance and conscious and unconscious impulses serve as materials for artistic creation.
By working closely with the participants and by interweaving each person’s creative intuitions, the emphasis will be on a quest for a resonant, transparent posture that allows those forces to mobilize the body and thus make primal sensations apparent. The goal is to become – to reach a state of multiplicity that is forever shifting and unfolding in constant transmutation, striving to become other, another being, a process that leads to a dramaturgy of metamorphosis that gradually takes shape.
