Heroes must confront evil forces and monsters of all kinds. In tragedy, they face the temptation of pride and excess. They distinguish themselves by their arrogance, err on the side of caution and undermine the balance of the world by transgressing its laws. Their fates are implacable, from meteoric rise to downfall, victims of their own excesses, atoning for the burden of human vanity.
Together, director Brigitte Haentjens and choreographer Catherine Gaudet invite Francis Ducharme - a long-time accomplice of both - to take up a titanic challenge: to embody the myth of the tragic hero.
